Winthrop is a cozy seaside community with easy access to downtown Boston and North shore communities. There are two parks there which are worth mentioning. The first, The Deer Island Harbor Walk which is a great place to walk by the ocean in Boston Harbor, with good trails and nice views of the city. There is a good amount of free parking and it is a great place to see the sunset. Coughlin Park is also a very pretty harborfront park with terrific skyline views, It also offers free parking, and a nicely designed playground for kids. There’s even a tiny beach facing out towards Snake Island. And every Independence Day, the town sets off an impressive fireworks display.
